Film Poster

The main colours used in the poster for my thriller film were black, red and white. These colours are very commonly used in films of this genre. Some examples of these are Shutter Island, One Missed Call (Both of which I analysed throughout the research) and several others such as the box. This is because these colours help to show the genre in different ways, The black and dark background connotes that there is a mystery involved and there is a lot of unknowns to the film, it can also connote death and shows that there is a risk of death in the film. The red then connotes the danger the protagonist could be in during the film, it also connotes violence and shows that the film may include things like blood and gore. The white is mainly there to stand out on the black background and draw the audiences attention to different things around the poster, such as the main title and reviews.

Another main aspect of my poster is the pictures involved in it, I decided to use the dark picture which is almost silhouette of the main character in the middle as it is very commonly used in posters of this genre, the three posters above also include this. This infers that there is a mystery surrounding the charcter shown in the poster
