The main colours used in this poster are black, red and yellow these three colours all connote different things but all relate to making the audience understand what the film is roughly about. The black connotes mystery and evil which shows that there is a lot of unknowns in this film and that the two main characters also shown are part of a mystery. The yellow writing and yellow tint to the picture help make the audience feel uneasy as it is unnatural. The red then connotes the danger the characters are in and suggests that the film contains violence. The title 'Seven' is writen in a red font that resembles blood, this again shows the violent and gory nature of the film
The two main protagonists actors names are shown above the large image of their faces on either side of the poster, this is to bring fans of each actor and use star power to bring in people who know they are quality actors. The red tones along with the yellow over the two main faces, this again can be related to the violence and danger the characters are in and the yellow again is unnatural and makes the audience uneasy. The review from the rolling stone under Morgan Freeman's face shows that people are enjoying the film and also shows the genre and what it is like all in one which may help the marketing of the film
